Why I came to studio one as a client:

I became a client at Studio One after starting a post-college office job and realizing that I needed a new type of exercise for my new type of life. Group movement has always appealed to me, however I found that group exercise classes often prioritized the super athletic and I left feeling misunderstood and embarrassed. Studio One was different from the very beginning – I walked out of my first class feeling strong, empowered, and confident, and I haven’t looked back since! Pilates has done wonders for my mental health in this regard.

Training/Education/Past life:

I am a transplant from the Philly suburbs, by way of Vermont. Working as a deckhand and kayak guide in Seward solidified my move to Alaska, and 2020 is my 10th year here. In my day job I work as an Environmental Consultant, focused on Arctic community planning and infrastructure projects.

Favorite thing about Alaska:

Alaska is where I have developed a career, met my wonderful husband, dog, friends/mentors, and experienced the profound effect of access to countless acres of public lands. That being said, fishing is my favorite.

Guilty Pleasure:

Early 2000s hip hop and cheesesteaks.
